Symbaloo Update September 2011

As of Tuesday September 6th you will notice some new updates to your Symbaloo. We get valuable feedback daily from our users and have put much work in to fulfilling the main requests. Symbaloo is now more user friendly not only in function but appearance. Please continue reading to find out what new things we’ve been working on:

Locked Webmixes

We’ve added a new feature to help you distinguish between your webmixes and webmixes you have installed from either the gallery or that have been shared with you. On webmixes that you do not have ownership you will see a little “lock” on the top right corner of the tab. This means that it is locked and you will not be able to move, edit or add any tiles to it. Once you select the “stop updates” option on the locked webmix the “lock” will disappear and you will now be able to make changes to the webmix as you please.

Webmix Settings Bar

To make the appearance of your webmix clean and more appealing we’ve add the option to hide your webmix “settings” bar. In your account preferences you can select the option to hide your webmix “settings” bar and this will hide your blue webmix functions that are below your webmix tabs.

Symbaloo Quickstart

In our last update we introduced the Symbaloo Quick Start , a handy tool to quickly create a page with your favorite websites. There is now a second option in the Quick Start that allows you to quickly add popular webmixes to your Symbaloo.

Log in with Facebook

Facebook Fans can now log in to Symbaloo with their Facebook account. That brings a few advantages:

  • If you want to share a webmix, you can share it directly to your wall
  • Like webmixes easily
  • Use the Facebook widget each time without having to log in
  • You won’t need to log in to two services you use every day
  • You can go to your account settings and also link your Twitter to Symbaloo. This will connect your Symbaloo Twitter Widget to your Twitter account.
