November updates

This month introduces a new tile shape option: squircles—a soft, rounded shape that sits between a circle and a square. Squircles give Webmixes a friendlier, modern look and can help visually distinguish different types of tiles or groups at a glance.

The best part

Combined with Symbaloo’s existing color and icon options, this gives you one more subtle way to create layouts that feel calm and easy for you to navigate.

Features worth trying out

Two features are especially worth experimenting with this month: replacing the center box and resizing your Webmix. These options give you more control over how your main “dashboard” works, so it fits your style instead of forcing you into a fixed layout.

Replace the center box with widgets. Instead of leaving the center box as empty space, you can add widgets that bring live, useful information right into the heart of your Webmix.

Popular choices amongst users are:
⁃ An RSS news widget for current events or subject-specific updates.
⁃ A weather widget to check before heading out.
⁃ A Google Sheet to keep track of your project.

Or use regular tiles in the center. If you prefer simplicity, you can instead fill the center with regular tiles that link to your most essential daily tools. This layout keeps everything you use “every single day” in one predictable, central space, so you spend less time hunting for tabs.

Resizing the Webmix. This lets you adjust how many rows and columns of tiles you see. A smaller grid can reduce visual clutter and help you focus on just the resources you truly need. A larger grid, on the other hand, works well if you have lots of resources and tools and want everything on one organized screen.

The best part

This flexibility ensures your digital dashboard fits just right, whether you’re managing a few favorite sites or a whole ecosystem of daily online tools.
